Following the announcements of adaptations of Siren Head and The Mandela Catalogue, it is now the SCP Foundation's turn to take a historic step. An official feature film has just been announced, and—contrary to what many had imagined—it will not be an independent film.
What is the SCP Foundation?
SCP officially stands for Secure, Contain, Protect. In this collaborative fictional universe, the SCP Foundation is a mysterious secret organization tasked with locating, capturing, and containing creatures, objects, or even locations that completely defy the laws of reality, in order to protect humanity.
Each anomaly is assigned its own number. Among the most famous is SCP-096, a creature that becomes extremely dangerous as soon as anyone sees its face. Over the years, thousands of entries have been written by the community, making SCP one of the largest collaborative horror universes on the Internet.
What will the movie be about?
The SCP universe will join the famous V/H/S franchise, known for its found-footage horror films, through a new installment titled V/H/S SCP. The film will take the form of archives and recordings recovered in the field by the Foundation. Each segment will feature a different anomaly—whether a creature, an object, or an unexplained event—while the stories as a whole will be linked by a major containment breach.
This approach promises to be particularly faithful to the famous SCP files, which are themselves written as confidential documents containing reports, containment procedures, and incident reports.

Who is behind the project?
The film is produced by Spooky Pictures and Image Nation Studios, the new owners of the V/H/S franchise. The production team includes Roy Lee, known for his work on The Ring, The Grudge, It, Barbarian, and the upcoming Weapons, as well as Steven Schneider, producer of Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Split, Pet Sematary, and Late Night with the Devil.
To date, no director, cast, or specific release date has been announced, but the film is currently scheduled for 2027.
